This site is a static website with one form on it. Here is exactly what it collects, who else sees it, and how to ask us to remove it.

The form on the contact page asks for your name, your email address, an optional company name and your message. Nothing else is stored. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation, and it is never sold, rented or added to a mailing list.
When you submit, a Netlify Function checks the form with Cloudflare Turnstile and then emails the message to our inbox through Resend, with your address set as the reply-to. The submission is not written to a database on this site. It lives in our email until the conversation no longer needs it, or until you ask us to delete it.
Turnstile is the spam check on the contact form. It runs in your browser when the contact page loads and sends Cloudflare signals about the browser session (including your IP address) so it can tell people from bots. Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers how it handles that data. Turnstile is only loaded on the contact page.
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and articles people read and how they found them. It sets first-party cookies (the ones starting with _ga) and sends Google your page views, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser details. We use the reports in aggregate and do not combine them with contact form submissions.
You can block it with your browser's tracking protection, a content blocker, or Google's own opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same without it.
The search box on the blog sends what you type to Algolia, which hosts the search index, and gets matching articles back. Queries are not tied to your name or email.
The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, requested URL, browser user agent) to run and protect the service. Fonts are served from our own domain, not Google Fonts. A few older blog posts fall back to loading code samples directly from GitHub, and one embeds a video from its host, so those pages make a request to that third party when you open them.
SitefinitySteve is based in Hamilton, Ontario, and handles personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request through the contact form and we will reply from our own address so you can confirm it is us.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
